Ayurvedic Chronic Gastritis Treatment

In Ayurveda medicinal science, the condition of Chronic Gastritis is known as Urdhvaga Amla Pitta and its as per terminology of herbal medicinal science. It is primarily caused by an aggravation of Pitta Dosha (Ayurvedic humor representing Fire), which happens due to improper dietary habits and excessive consumption of alcohol or tobacco because pitta is the carrier of our digestive fire and thus any property associated with regards digestion has to be attributed with pitta dosha. Aggravated Pitta impairs the body’s digestive fire, leading to improper digestion of food and production of ama (toxins) which further impairs the digestion of our stomach and results in more production of ama in our body channels. Due to aggravated Pitta, this ama becomes heating in nature and results in blockage of all body channels related to digestive system. This heating ama gets accumulated in the body and increases the levels of gases in the stomach, causing the condition of Gastritis which can be very painful and troublesome for the patient in so many ways.

Ayurvedic treatment of Chronic Gastritis involves the reduction of aggravated body energies and the restoration of the digestive fire using cooling herbal preparations and Pitta-pacifying diet so its highly pivotal for patient of gastritis to follow a pitta pacifying diet and lay maximum emphasis on pitta cooling foods. Ayurvedic techniques of reducing tension and stress are also proven to be effective in treating this condition so patient should follow all the guidelines of physician sincerely.
